Private Yoga Sessions
I am delighted to offer customized private Yoga experiences within an intimate divine setting of candles, music and doTERRA therapeutic grade essential oils in beautiful Edgemont Village North Vancouver in my Urban Mystics Retreat Location as well as in my private therapy space in Squamish BC.
Your session can include:
Hatha Yoga Flow ~ uses postures (asanas) in combination with the breath to develop flexibility, strength and relaxation with the use of a variety of props that support your unique body. All styles of Hatha Yoga encourage proper alignment of the body and bring balance, strength, and calmness to the practitioner. This is a perfect style of yoga to learn as a beginner or enjoy as an advanced practitioner.
Yin Yoga is a perfect compliment to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin Yoga is a very relaxing practice yet challenging and is suitable for most anyone!
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice of passive, fully supported poses which stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and naturally supports healing. This beautiful healing practice includes practices of meditation, guided healing visualizations and yogic breathing. Restorative Yoga is perfect for any level of student as well as anyone who is healing from illness, dis-ease or trauma. Restorative yoga emphasizes relaxing into postures for five to fifteen minutes each, which activates the parasympathetic nervous system. When our adrenal glands are depleted, our parasympathetic nervous system becomes unbalanced. A balanced parasympathetic nervous system enables us to have strong digestion, good sleep, a strong immune system and a feeling of overall calm within the body-mind and spirit.
Yoga Nidra is a yogic technique wherein we consciously learn to relax. Often referred to as “Yogic Sleep”,Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of bringing deep relaxation to all levels of our being. It is the state between sleep and wakefulness where contact with all three states of consciousness (consciousness, unconsciousness and sub-consciousness) happens simultaneously. From this precious place, past trauma, undesired habits and patterns and illness can be healed. Yoga Nidra is typically a one hour journey and can be enjoyed after any Yoga Practice or on its own.
Meditation, Guided Visualizations and Gentle Healing Touch can take you to a place of deep relaxation and healing. These techniques are all offered in my private 2 hour Yoga sessions or they can be experienced on their own.
BackMitra is a great asset in alleviating and preventing hip, back, neck and shoulder pain. This is a great prop to use in all Yoga sessions or experience fully on its own during a 90 minute session/practice.
